Five Montauk Brewing cans, Wave Chaser IPA, The Surf Beer, Juicy IPA, Pilsner and Tropical IPA, each with a bold color shape behind it

Montauk Brewing Company was founded in 2012 in Montauk, at the eastern tip of Long Island, by Vaughan Cutillo and Eric Moss. Ammirati created the brand: the arrowhead seal, the MONTAUK wordmark and a system of bold color shapes that gives every beer its own identity while keeping the family unmistakable on the shelf.

Matthew F. Ammirati was also a shareholder and helped lead the company’s sale in 2022. By then Montauk had become the leading craft brewer in metro New York, sold in more than 6,400 stores.
